Hewan Gebrewold is an Ethiopian-based musician working on different music genres, a fusion of Ethiopian music scale with international sounds. Hewan was born in Mekelle and raised in Addis Ababa, her passion for music started in early childhood. In high school, she began performing live with the legendary Yeha Band. After a long experience in live performance, she passed the audition to join the great Jano Band. Hewan was able to experience great success with the band, their first album was an Ethiopian hit album that made the artist experience world tours(USA, Canada, Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Israel). As a team Jano was able to achieve great success and an African nomination, specifically, Hewan’s single track named “Darign” was nominated for Afrima awards in 2017. Locally Hewan’s tracks were nominated in different Ethiopian music awards like Leza and Addis music awards at different times. After the Jano team had separated, Hewan started her career as a solo artist and released the most hit tracks named “Keminew” and “Na Na”. Currently, Hewan has finalized her self-entitled debut solo album with eleven tracks. Last but not least Hewan has performed with an Ethio-trans music band and album named “KUTU”, currently doing their album release tours worldwide.
